    Teju Cole is the photography critic of the New York Times Magazine and the Gore Vidal Professor of the Practice of Creative Writing at Harvard. He was born in the US in 1975 to Nigerian parents, and raised in Nigeria. He currently lives in Brooklyn. He is the author of four books; Every Day is for the Thief, Open City, Known and Strange Things, and Blind Spot.

    Krista Tippett is a Peabody Award-winning broadcaster and New York Times bestselling author. As the creator and host of public radio’s On Being (www.onbeing.org), which airs on over 400 public radio stations nationwide and globally via podcast, Tippett takes up the great animating questions of human life: What does it mean to be human, and how do we want to live?
