Too Young to Wed: Uncovering the Secret World of Child Brides in the Middle East, Asia and Africa

Stephanie Sinclair is a documentary photographer who contributes regularly to National Geographic, The New York Times Magazine, TIME, Newsweek, among others. Cynthia Gorney became a professor of journalism at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism after a career at The Washington Post that included serving as a national features writer and South American bureau chief. She is a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine and National Geographic. Through deeply moving words and photography, Sinclair and Gorney will present their award-winning journalistic journey uncovering the underground world of child marriage, which spans continents, language, religion and caste. Their project was done in conjunction with National Geographic and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting in Washington, D.C. The journalists’ visit to Wake Forest is made possible through collaboration with the Pulitzer Center, the journalism program at Wake Forest and the Provost’s Office for Global Affairs.
